Hello Anser Families,

One of your fellow Anser parents shared a great resource I'd like to pass along to you. Wait Until 8th is an organization that provides information and support for families who are making the choice to wait until at least 8th grade before giving their child a smartphone, (flip phones don't count!)

The emerging research on the negative mental health impacts of social media and 24/7 access to technology is overwhelmingly in support of saving a smartphone for a time when your child's brain and emotional development are better equipped to handle its use.

We have restricted the use of phones on campus because of the negative impacts they have on a child's development. It is a daily challenge to enforce those rules because the desire to stay connected to their phone is so powerful! We have to enforce those rules for 7 hours a day, but we know as parents your job of managing these tools is even harder! Signing the Wait Until 8th pledge is a step you can take to support your child's brain development, and mental health, while also gaining resources to explain your decision to your child and support from other families who are making the same choice. I encourage you to review their resources and to sign up to gain the support of your fellow Anser parents while you navigate these important decisions.

All Things GooseFest May 23rd!

The afternoon of GooseFest we would love to have all families end the school year with us on campus the last day of school as such we will not run the afternoon bus that day. This year's Goosefest is a celebration of 25 years in education and is being built totally by students. A mini expedition with the final product a fun festival for all. We can't wait to finalize plans and share with our community!

Celebrating Celebrations of Learning! 1st Grade had their Writers' Workshop Celebration of Learning recently. Crews wrote books and then read their books aloud at the Bown Crossing Library to family and friends.

Reminders for End of the Day Pick Up

The end of the school is is upon us. We wanted to reiterate our end of day pick up plans. Help us end this school year safely and efficiently!

1. K-5 Students and their AMS siblings should be picked up on the 43rd Street side. They should meet up inside the gym and wait together until their names are called to come to your vehicle.

2. If you would like to walk up to retrieve your child(ren), you can meet them at the glass double doors that face UPS. They should meet up inside the gym and wait together with the "walk-up" group to be escorted out the double doors to meet you.

3. Students should not walk out of the gym when they are texted but should wait until they are called.

4. Pull all the way forward along the sidewalk before picking up your student(s) and be sure they enter your vehicle on the passenger side only.

Today is the last day to purchase AMS Yearbooks and have them arrive at school before the end of the year. If you have any questions, please reach out to Chelsie in the Front Office.

We are looking for some new faces to join the Family Council for the 2024/2025 school year? It's a fantastic chance to mingle with other parents and the larger Anser community. We meet once a month in the evenings, plus at various events throughout the year.

Our goal is simple: We want your input on school policies, help organize fun and educational events for parents, and connect families to volunteering opportunities within the school and the community. Technically, we do "elect" members, but honestly, everyone is welcome to join!

Idaho School Tax Credit Makes Your Financial Gift Go Further!

Tax day happened, make next year better, now! If you would like to pay less next year, now is the time to make a contribution to Anser!
