Spotlight on Expeditions! Over the break Andrea Kingsbury, our Finance and Operations Manager, coordinated with a local solar company, Magic Solar to have solar panels installed at Anser! This was as a result of Nicole Pape securing a grant through "Solar 4R Schools" grant from Idaho Power. This program is funded by the Green Power Program with the goal to help students understand how electricity is produced, learn about the science of solar, and explore careers in energy. "The 4/5 What is Energy? expedition has taken off! Students are learning about and experimenting with types of kinetic and potential energy, gravity, friction, transfer of energy, and conversion of energy. They will have hands-on experience building circuits; learning how different types of energy (including wind and solar) are converted into electrical energy. Thanks to the Solar 4R Kids grant from Idaho Power, the 4/5 teachers received project materials and training about electricity and solar power, and have access to real time data from solar panels installed on our building! At the conclusion of the expedition, students will create a model, write a short information piece explaining how their model works to convert energy, and present it to community members at a spring Science Exhibition." |

Spring Time Fun! We think it's safe to celebrate the arrival of spring... It feels especially spring like in the halls of Anser! 2nd and 3rd grade crews worked hard on their Pollinator Expedition. Butterflies were released before the break, the plants they have tended have gotten almost too big for their containers and ready to be transplanted. The garden along the 42nd lot has greens galore! Alli's crew celebrated Spring during her Whole School Community with an original song, check it out below. Their performance was all orginal, go crew! |

| A Note from one of our Family Council Representatives! Being involved in my school's Family Council brings me immense joy and fulfillment. One of the highlights is coordinating our annual Fall Fest, a cherished tradition that brings together families, educators, and students for a day of laughter and celebration. It's incredibly rewarding to witness the smiles on everyone's faces as they enjoy the festivities we've planned with care. Moreover, being part of the Family Council means constantly meeting new families and forging connections that extend beyond the classroom. Welcoming newcomers and integrating them into our school family is a rewarding experience that strengthens our community bonds. In addition to the Fall Fest, we're constantly planning fun-filled community events that not only bring us together but also contribute to the positive atmosphere of our school. From movie nights to fundraisers, there's always something exciting on the horizon. I believe that by joining our Family Council, others can share in these rewarding experiences, contribute their unique talents, and help create a vibrant school environment that we can all be proud of. We would love to welcome you to join our Family Council team for the upcoming 24/25 school year. We meet the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 in the AMS commons. If you have any questions you can reach out to me at jamyholmes@gmail.com. Amy Holmes Learn more about Family Council here! |
