What Are "Office Hours"?

These are meetings that anyone in the Anser community may come to! It is an opportunity to connect with our school leaders, board members and other Anser families. You may ask questions in advance via this form, or ask questions in person the night-of. Even if you do not have questions, please come and listen!

This month's office hours will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss  "all things Anser". Do you have questions about topics such as EL education practices? How we do learning at Anser? Do you want to understanding how (in pre- and post-pandemic times) your student learning will include field work/CBC/adventure and the great things that make Anser so unique? What's life after construction at Anser going to look like?! These, and any other topics parents want to discuss will be open for conversation with our school leaders.

ALL ARE WELCOME TO COME LISTEN OR ASK QUESTIONS!

Please note, while covid-related topics are NOT off limits at the November office hours, please note that the Board of Director's Covid Response Team (CRT) will be back to host office hours to answer questions specific to covid policy again at the beginning of December. With this week's approval of the children's vaccine the CRT will continue to provide relevant and real-time information about the CRT's ongoing discussions and information streams related to these changes. In the meantime, if you have ANY questions related to vaccines at school, Anser's upcoming vaccination clinics, covid policy, the RRP, or anything else, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL OFFICE HOURS! Please email Michelle, Heather or the Board Chair, Caitlyn Scales (caitlyn@upthescales.com) and we will respond immediately! Our goal continues to be full transparency, as we want to respond to any comments, concerns or questions right away.

Covid Vaccine Clinic

Anser is hosting a vaccination clinic for those 12 and older. Anyone who needs their first dose, second dose or those who would like to receive a booster of the Pfizer or Moderna Covid-19 vaccine is welcome to sign up. The Flu vaccine will also be available. Pre-registration is required, and can be completed by using the QR found in the flyerlinked here. We will be vaccinating staff from 3:00-4:15 and then families will be served from 4:15pm to 6:00pm. If you have any questions or need assistance with the form please contact the main office at 208-426-9840.

Fall Fund Drive

Did you know that, Idaho has the lowest school funding in the ENTIRE country? Year after year, our schools come in dead last. To make matters worse for Anser and other charters, we also do not receive any levy funding! That leads to a $1500 or larger gap per student in what a charter school receives per student versus a traditional school.  These funding deficits impact every facet of Anser’s budget, including the unique opportunities we are able to offer your children.

This is why we do the Fall Fund Drive each year! We work together to help fill this gap!

You can make a one time contribution, or an annual pledge to the Fall Fund Drive! If it fits your family budget better, consider making a $20 monthly pledge, which makes a $240 annual donation! No contribution is too small or too large; the most important thing is that the gift is meaningful to your family. At whatever level, you can play a part in helping Anser overcome this funding deficit! You can help us meet our $40,000 goal!

Thank you to the following families for their contributions: Danielle Brand-Lemond, Kim Conner, Mike and Heather Dennis, Nancy Incorvia, Misty Kreissler, Christina Lenkowski, Melissa McCray, and Elizabeth Rosenberger.

Parent At Large Board Position Open

A Parent-At-Large board member position is open on the Anser Community Board. The Parent-At-Large is elected by the Anser parent community. The member serves on the Anser Community Board for a two year term and is assigned to at least one board committee. The Anser Community  Board is the governing body of the school and is charged with setting the long term vision of the school, and working with the co-directors to make sure the mission of the school is realized. We encourage a parent with a passion for effective governance, and a willingness to serve. Currently, the Anser Board is looking to recruit a new member with a strong financial, business or accounting background, but those skill sets are not a requirement.

For more information about this position, please email Anser’s Community Board Vice President and Governance committee chair Leslie Brown for more information at lsbrown328@gmail.com.  Names of candidates will be accepted until Friday November 5th.

Looking for Fast Covid Test Results?

Boise State has testing  available to students and the turn around on results is often same day! They are offering both PCR and Rapid testing so you can get answers about your child’s illness! Anser is still offering PCR saliva testing, but the turnaround is 36-48 hours for results.
