Spotlight on EL Education - This year Learner Goal Setting Conferences will happen for 3rd to 8th grade crews October 17-19th. More information, including sign ups, can be found here.

In an EL Education school, students take responsibility for their learning. Setting a Learner Goal is an opportunity for a student to take an active role by reflecting on their own learning, considering areas where they would like to improve and thinking through the steps that will lead them to success. A student can choose to set an academic goal, or choose a character trait goal that will support their learning. Click on the video below for more information on how EL Education encourages students to an active participant in all aspects of learning.

Security Update and Reminders - In the coming days we will be implementing a new check in process for adults entering the building using our check in software. Upon checking in, adults will be asked to scan their driver's license before entering through the second set of doors to retrieve their visitor sticker. The software will check the drivers license against a national sex offender database and terrorist watch list. While this will add a bit of time to your check in process it is another way you can help us ensure the safety of our students. If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please email Tracy Quissell at tquissell@ansercharterschool.org.

Here are a few safety reminders:
  • All parents/visitors must check in through the front office.
  • All parents/visitors must have a sticker showing they have checked in. If they don't have the sticker they will be directed to the front office to get one.
  • All exterior gates are locked at 8:30am/9:30 on Wednesdays. If you arrive after 8:30 you must bring your student to the front entrance on 42nd st.
Again, thank you for being our partner in keeping our community safe!

After School Programming Update - Our programming took flight this week with just a few hiccups. So many kids had so much fun! Thank you to everyone for your patience and feedback which helped us iron out some wrinkles. Your can help us out by NOT PARKING ON EITHER SIDE OF THE BUS PICK UP LANE. Please pull into the little lot off 42nd or you can park in the lot off 43rd and walk through the courtyard to pick up your kiddos. Sorry to yell but it's a real bummer when the buses arrive back at school and cannot park. Thank you for your help and cooperation!

We are crew! Time outside is one of our favorite ways to spend a day! Crews biked, hiked, spent time at the Foothills Learning Center and picked up trash around parks and trails. Thank you to all that partipcated in these outdoor adventures and fieldwork. We are looking forward to more time outside as the weather shifts and we head up the mountain to Bogus and continue to explore all that Boise has to offer each season!
