Update to K-5 Afterschool Pickup Procedures for Walk Up Parents - Beginning Monday, we will be making a small shift to the pickup procedures for parents who are walking up to retrieve their children. In the gym, a staff person will collect the majority of students whose parents normally walk up and a teacher will escort them out the atrium doors to meet their parents on the US map. 1st-5th Grade Parents: Please wait on the US map for your child to come outside. If your student isn't in the group that gets brought outside, the teacher supervising will use a two radio to call for your student to be sent out. Kindergarten Parents- Please wait outside until the 1st-5th grade students have exited onto the map, and then you may enter to retrieve your student. |

Spotlight on EL Education - We are happy to highlight Heather Dennis, Anser's new Executive Director here at Anser, this week in our Spotlight on EL Education! The Executive Director role was created by the Anser Board of Directors to provide focused leadership to ensure Anser's Mission and Vision is realized. In my role I work directly with the Eduation Director and Assistant Education Director to analyze Anser's education program outcomes, to reflect on our successes and challenges and to support a model of continuous improvement. I also work directly with Anser's finance and administration leads to oversee the fiscal and operational health of the school. I am also Anser's number one advocate! I get to work with Family Council to support parent involvement in the school and with the Board of Directors to set the direction of the school and to manage our resources. In that advocate role I also lead Anser's fundraising efforts in conjunction with the Resource Development Committee of the board. While I've spent alot of time cheerleading for 100% attendance during this first month of school, you will soon see our shift to rolling out the Anser Annual Drive! I always say I won the lottery when my (now 29 year old) son was accepted in the Anser lottery way back in 2000. My three children grew their academic and character strengths due to the tremendous education they received at Anser. And I've had the gift of having a career where I know the work I do makes a positive change in the lives of others every day. When people ask me why I work at Anser, I say that I believe education is the only thing that will save the world. Supporting the future change- makers of the world is my calling and I am grateful to do that work with my Anser crew. |

25 Days of Attendance TIME! Our first 25 days of attendance are complete! We thank the many families who prioritized attendance this past month! Not only do students benefit academically from good attendance, the school benefits financially. A huge hooray for our AMS students (6th-8th) who had a 95.3% attendance rate! Way to go AMSers! Our K-5 got close at 94.5%. Attendance is critical to your child's academic success all year round! Let's keep these attendance trends going all year long! 25 Years in Education - We have launched our Anser Annual Drive! This is the portion of our fundraising where we ask for your financial support. Because this is our 25th year in operation all things 25 will be celebrated! We just hit and then promptly exceeded $2500 raised for Anser! Thank you to the following people for their financial support. Amanda & Curtis Neill, Kiely Prouty & Jenna Porter, Grant Horeczy, Laurel Wade & Matt Yost, Erin Martin, Jennifer Smackey, Sara & Austin Loree, Mandy & Shawn Olson, Hollis Welsh & Nick Garcia, Ardeth Smackey and Stephen Kriss. |

ANSER AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING NEED-TO-KNOWS: - Session A runs from the first week of October to the first week of November!
- Please do not park in the bus lane. The parking needs to be open and accessible for our buses. We will have the gate from 43rd street open to access the front office from that lot. Thank you.
- Kids will be excused after school to the AMS lunchroom at 3:30 to eat a snack before programming begins. We will have healthy snack options for them but if your child has special dietary needs, please send an extra snack with them.
- Please arrive to pick up your child at 4:45 at the main entrance on 42nd. Please pull into the parking lot off 42nd and not in the drive-through loop. We have to keep the drive-through loop open for the buses to park. K-3 parents need to park and come inside to check out their little cherubs with Chelsie. Students in 4-8 can watch for their cars, give Jess a heads-up that their rides are here, and head out to the parking lot.
- Here are the rosters, yet again. Please check to see where your kiddo is signed up.
- If your child is disrespectful and disruptive during after school programming, they will be removed from the activity and I (Jess) will speak with your child and yourself about it during pick up. If your child is willing to make a plan for better choices next week, they can try again. If they are disruptive a second week, they will be uninvited from the programming. Hopefully kids are signed up for activities they love so they will be cooperative and engaged!
- If you have any questions please feel free to contact me, jmcginnis@ansercharterschool.org.

We are crew! So many moments to highlight. It feels so good to be fully back in our routine on campus and out in the community! Kinder crews visited Zoo Boise, 4/5 crews went on a downtown Boise scavenger hunt, 2nd grade crews visiting the Boise Art Museum, AMS crews hiked and biked and planted and 3rd grade crews talked with Suzanne about Anser's history. The halls are a buzz with a positive energy and we are so grateful to be together. |
