| Spotlight on EL Education - Over the next few weeks in addition to sharing information about Anser we want to highlight some of our teaching staff and talk more about EL Education and why they choose Anser. Abby Wirshing joined Anser in 2017 as a Junior High English teacher. This is her first year as our Assistant Education Director! "Last summer, I had the opportunity to attend the EL Education Leadership Institute with other school leaders from across the nation. As an EL teacher moving into a new administration role, I was excited to have the opportunity to reflect on our culture and community of Crew. At Anser, Crew is experienced in many different ways, from daily Crew meetings, Whole School Community and teachers getting to know their students in order to better support. Crew leaves a lasting impression on all who experience it at Anser." Thank you, Abby! |

Anser Art Exhibitions - Given Anser’s growth and new building we have made a revision to the way kids contribute to Anser’s fundraising in a more authentic and meaningful way. Historically children’s art has been featured at the year end fundraising event. But in light of our year long community fundraising expedition we are switching it up! We are excited to announce 2/3 Crews Art Exhibition- Crew members are working hard leading up to the exhibition February 6th-10th. They are looking forward to celebrating with families and friends on their Opening Night on Monday, February 6th from 5:-6:30 pm. We are actively seeking sponsors for these art exhibitions. Check out our sponsorship opportunities here! Never enough opportunities to thank and appreciate our Visual Art Lab Instructors, Kelli Ott and Anne Moore! |
A Quick Update on 2-8 Student Led Conferences and K/1 Learner Goal Setting Conferences -Crews are excited about conferences this afternoon and tomorrow. As a reminder here is a link to a document with all the sign up times for each classroom. For those of you joining us tonight. We do have renters in our gym so we ask that you use the multipurpose/library as an access point between the buildings. The smaller gates between the 43rd and 42nd parking lots will be open to access the front office tonight and tomorrow. Upon exiting, please only use the front office doors. Thank you to our 2/3 classroom coordinators and Amy Vecchione and Amy Holmes for providing meals for our teachers during conferences. We appreciate our community, so much! |

Is Anser a Welcoming Community? Caring, inquiring minds want to know. On behalf of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Work Team, Sarah Wilson and Jess McGinnis will be conducting short voluntary interviews with families on January 26th and 27th during student-led portfolio conferences. If you would rather share your feedback digitally, please click on the links below to access a short survey. Your feedback is invaluable to help us grow into the diverse, equitable, inclusive and just school we hope to be. The more families respond, the clearer a picture we will have of how we are doing and how we can improve. Many thanks in advance for sharing your stories with us.

We are Crew! 2/3 Crews have embarked on their Foothills Expedition! This means multiple trips in the coming weeks to the Foothills Learning Center. Their first trip out they learned about different characteristics of mammals, specifically mammals that live in our foothills. Crews rotated through stations where they felt animal pelts, examined skulls of local foothills mammals, and rubberized scat. They ended their time with a hike and looked for signs of mammals on the trail. Snow makes for some fun tracks from a big range of animals! There are more fun and exciting Foothills Fieldwork in their future! |

Bus Ridership Count Week of January 30- Calling all bus riders! In order to maintain consistent state funding for our transportation program a ridership count has to be done a couple weeks a year. If we don't have good ridership during that week, additional school funds that would be used for education will have to be spent on transportation. You can help ensure we get the most possible funding by riding the bus as much as possible the week of January 30th! If you are a seasonal rider, or occasional rider, please support the program by riding as much as possible during the week of January 30th. We appreciate your support and we love having our transportation program up and running. It's been so helpful getting kids to and from fieldwork, transporting kids before and after school as well as fun after hours options like the Holiday Light Tour! Thank you for your support! |
