More After School Programming Updates!
Hello Fine Anser Families!
Just a really quick update about the after school program plans for next year! We are going to be running rotating 5 & 6 weeks sessions with a wide variety of activities for all ages, K-8, in small groups of 8-16 kids on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 starting in October. Just want to reiterate that this program is NOT a comprehensive aftercare program. If your child will need regular daily after school care in the fall, please contact the Boys and Girls Club down the street or another program. If you know for sure that you want to lead an activity for a session (or two!), please email me this summer and I will start working with folks on getting that organized. Examples of activities that you might want to consider leading are sports, arts&crafts, chess, music, dance, languages, theater, STEM activities, community service projects etc. Really we are open to whatever you are passionate about and want to share with a small group of kiddos. (I know, I know, you want to know what activities I am going to lead but that will depend on what YOU ALL decide you want to do. I will both support your ideas and do some of my own projects. I can't wait to hear what you are excited about!) You can also share with me names of other community folks with special talents who might be great after school program instructors and I will reach out to them to see if they are interested in working with us. We are hoping to have a nice balance between volunteer and paid instructors which will allow as many kids as possible to participate. All activities will be free for students. If you are slowly sinking into summer and the new school year seems a long way off, enjoy your float and never fear, I will contact you all again in the fall to give you another chance to jump on board our after school party train.
